Now known as The Original Collection, they are works of wearable art using mostly re-purposed vintage and antique items that are re-designed into something fresh and modern. Schenk has a passion for the items of the past and explores antique stores, auctions, and consultations at private estates. She discerns and collects unique vintage treasures, heirloom jewels, and metalwork then deconstructs, refurbishes and redesigns her findings to form fresh, bold, and innovative pieces. Since her collection’s original launch in 2008, April Schenk has been the muse and creative force behind the label. Lending themselves to day or night, season after season, her couture works are signature wardrobe pieces.
